Insulation for Hard To Treat Homes

edited April 2015 in General
I have a couple of friends with hard to treat homes, one with very wide cavities and the other very narrow cavities, both are struggling to find anyone to carry out the cavity wall insulation.

In both cases companies have come and looked, but none have quoted, they mutter about the difficulties and are never seen again. I thought the government had a scheme to help deal with Hard to treat property?

Comments

  • Green Deal ECO funded. They need to request a survey from one of the specialist companies that handle HTTC.
  • Does the narrow cavity property meet the official definition of hard to treat? As I understand it the cavity has to be between 40 and 49mm.

I think 100% funding is available under CERO...

You may have to go through an energy company to get it done?

Dear God, it's still impossibly complicated...

(Just off to attend the *2nd* Green Deal Assessment of a rented property in 18 months 'cos they say doing some of the recommended improvements has moved the baseline.... personally I suspect this is where someone makes the money.)

Csco, Cero, Ciro, just buy me an autogiro so I can escape to the sun ...
