Could someone please explain to me how to do the html for making *several * comments, at various intervals, in reply to a long piece of text ?

Thank you.

  • Just insert blockquote and /blockquote around the text you want to be quoted. eg

    Text to be quoted

    Your comment

    More text to be quoted

    Your comment
  • That becomes..
    Text to be quoted
    Your comment
    More text to be quoted
    Your comment

Highlight the first bit of text you want to quote, press Quote, and it will appear in the Reply box as normal. Then do same again for the next bit of text you want.

Unfortunately you can't quote so straightforwardly off pages previous to the current one, nor from other threads. To do that, you have to fake it - select any old bit of text off the current page, press Quote and it appears in the reply box as normal. Then alter the 'Posted by' name, and copy-paste in the text that you want (copied off a second instance of the thread - or other thread) in place of the random text. If off another thread, it's good to say 'From '.

Of course once you get into what Tom suggests, the options are endless....
